Starbucks, I Love Lucy, and the Yucatán Peninsula

This is going to be a big post.

Hi.

Yesterday I was riding the bus home from school. I noticed this cool little skyway that connected these two buildings in a hospital complex near our house. So at about 6:00 PM, I set out with only my trusty digital camera as a mute yet somehow cool sidekick. I didn't get a good picture of the skyway, so I won't show it here, but I'll post the rest of the pictures I took.

Footprints. Lots of them.

The parking garage of the hospital. I thought it looked cool.

Colorful houses. Not as colorful as I would've liked.

Stop. I would've cloned out those little nubs at the bottom-left corner if I could get my image software to work.

House. It looked really cool when I took it, but the picture's a little too blurry.

When I got back, I found out that my parents had brought home pizza. Fortunately, the pizza was still warm.

Pizza Hut is my favorite pizza chain. Actually, I like Pizzeria Uno's too, even though there aren't any around here (we usually eat there when we visit my grandma in Milwaukee). Papa John's crust is really dry and they come with those little green peppers on the side. I hate those things so I don't eat the slices that they touch. I feel bad when I see so much pizza go to waste.

World66 is a cool place. It's like an online travel guide that people can edit themselves, like Wikipedia.

Here's a map of the countries I've been to:

Sad, huh?

Here's what the map of Europe will hopefully look like after my trip next summer:

create your personalized map of europe

The countries are Austria, England (not a country, I know), France, Germany, Italy, Scotland (not a country either), and Sweden.

We have to go to England and Austria because that's where the conferences that make this whole thing possible are. We have about two weeks of travel time in between too. We're pretty sure we're going to Paris, and we're going to stop off at Rome after Austria. My dad wants to go to Scotland (southern Scotland is supposed to be boring, though). I would LOVE to go to Stockholm and either Munich or Berlin. Pretty much just hitting the big cities. When I'm in college, though, I think I'd like to spend my summers in Europe.

On a final note, I have found a new song that I adore. It's called "L-L-Love", by Astaire. Astaire is these two Brazilian-American siblings, Bruce and Erica Driscoll, who "craft sexy Europop with a Brazilian undercurrent", according to iTunes. "L-L-Love" is the Free Single of the Week on iTunes, so I gobbled it up as soon as I saw it. I normally hate pop, but this is 1000x better than any of that diva crap that we hear on the radio every day. I downloaded the rest of the album too (it's called Don't Whisper Lies). There are only 5 songs total on the album. The other songs aren't as good as "L-L-Love", in my opinion, but I still love them.

Whew.
